A dog-friendly restaurant in Laugharne — The Globe
Bring the dog. If you're looking for a dog-friendly restaurant in Laugharne, ours is a simple yes — dogs are welcome at The Globe on Duncan Street, inside by the bar and out in the secret garden both. Not left tied to a rail on the pavement while you eat your lunch.
Inside and out
Plenty of places say dog-friendly and mean the doorstep. We mean the room. Bring them in from the cold and settle by the bar, or take a table in the garden when the estuary weather's kind. There's usually a water bowl going, and someone will make a fuss of them before you've got your coat off.
Good after a walk
The estuary path and the castle walk are a couple of minutes from the door, and both tend to come back muddy. That's fine by us. Wet dog, muddy boots, a table by the window — that's most of our winter lunchtimes. The kitchen's on Tuesday to Saturday, lunch from 12, so you can aim for the end of the walk rather than rushing the loop to beat a last-orders clock.
Something for you while they settle
The menu turns with the season, but there's always something worth the drive — the Welsh beef cheeseburger, fresh fish, a bread board to pick at over a garden-to-glass cocktail. Morning people, the bakery opens around half eight: coffee and a fresh croissant while the dog dries off by your feet. Here's the menu.
The honest bit
Weekends fill, and the garden's weather-dependent, so if you're coming in from Carmarthen or St Clears with the dog in the back, book a table ahead rather than chance it. A quiet Tuesday you can usually walk straight in. One gentle ask — friendly as we are, we do hope they're the sort to settle by your chair rather than greet every table. Most are.
Bring them along
Book a table, mention the dog's coming if you like, and we'll have the bowl ready.
